Student Highlight on. . .

               LeVar Harris

Class of 2015 Hampton University Class of 2019

LeVar Harris was born in Washington, DC. At the end of his ninth grade year, he moved with his dad who lived in Baltimore.

LeVar looked at the high schools in Baltimore and decided on Northwestern because of its strong track and field team. He has always been interested in the military and spent his ninth grade year at Forestville Military Academy in Prince Georges County. Upon entering Northwestern, he joined the Air Force JROTC program where he has excelled.

We are pleased to announce that the United States Marine Corps has offered LeVar a full scholarship to the HBCU of his choice. He is now a freshman at Hampton University. He plans to study sociology and criminology.

LeVar also had full scholarships to the University of Maryland, College Park and West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Upon graduation from college, LeVar will be an officer in the United States Marine Corps. After twenty years, he plans to retire and join the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) or the Secret Service.

LeVar has nine sisters and a Belgium Shepherd named Storm. In his spare time, he likes to play the piano, drums, bass guitar, trumpet and saxaphone. He was the Corps Commander of the Air Force JROTC unit at Northwestern. He was also the student body representative. LeVar is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) and serves as a mime for his church.

We are proud of our Wildcat!
